L’elenco delle persone che lo detestano è sempre più lungo: da Valentina, la figlia adolescente che non gli perdona di aver abbandonato lei e la madre, al cognato Ermanno, che gli impone l’ennesimo ultimatum per lasciare l’abitazione dove da anni vive a scrocco; dalla pm Ornella Capocuore, che non vede l’ora di revocargli la licenza da detective, fino a Erica, la donna che lo amava e che adesso non vuole più avere a che fare con lui. E come se non bastasse Anna, la sua ex moglie, aspetta un altro figlio. Da lui. Non è sfortuna, quella di Contrera, ma un vero e proprio talento per l’autodistruzione, quasi pari al suo fascino e alla sua abilità investigativa. Ed ecco infatti che si presenta un nuovo caso, che può permettergli di riscattarsi e dare il meglio di sé. Pretty good overall. It held my attention, even if a few things were a little predictable. Enjoyable weekend read.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. A generous 3 stars.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Would probably read it again at some point.

An average read for me. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.
