Overview: Doktorica Edith Eva Eger se je rodila na Madžarskem. Bila je še najstnica, ko so jo leta 1944 s staršema in sestro odpeljali v zloglasno nacistično uničevalno taborišče Auschwitz. Njena starša sta tam umrla. Doktorica Eger je zdaj, pri devetdesetih letih, uspešna klinična psihologinja v La Jolli v Kaliforniji, predava na Univerzi v San Diegu in slovi po svojih govorih v ZDA in po svetu, poleg tega pa dela tudi za ameriško vojsko in vojno mornarico kot svetovalka pri urjenju vzdržljivosti in pri zdravljenju posttravmatskega stresa. Bila je gostja številnih televizijskih programov, med temi oddaje Oprah Winfrey Show in CNN-ovega prispevka ob sedemdeseti obletnici osvoboditve Auschwitza. Izpostavili so jo tudi v dokumentarcu o holokavstu nizozemske državne televizije. Doktorica Eger je leta 1972 prejela naziv učiteljice psihologije leta, leta 1987 so jo v El Pasu imenovali za žensko leta, leta 1992 pa ji je kalifornijski senat podelil humanitarno nagrado. Doktorica Eger je imela uvodni govor ob proslavitvi devetdesetega rojstnega dne Viktorja Frankla na mednarodni konferenci o logoterapiji. To je njena prva knjiga.

A very satisfying read. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. The middle dragged a tiny bit, but the ending totally made up for it. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.
