Overview: 1. Dünya Savaşı sırasında Müttefiklerin donanmalarıyla Çanakkale Boğazı’ndan geçip İstanbul’u işgal etme planları Osmanlı ordusunun destansı savunması sonucu boşa çıkmıştı. Ancak bundan üç yıl sonra, Mondros Ateşkes Antlaşması (1918) uyarınca, Müttefik güçler Çanakkale Boğazı’ndan direnişsiz geçtiler ve 160 gemiyle İstanbul’a girip şehri kontrol altına aldılar. 16 Mart 1920 günü ise şehri resmen işgal edip, Osmanlı meclisini kapattılar ve ağır Sevr maddelerini sadrazam Damat Ferit Paşa’ya imzalattılar.Bu arada, Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın Samsun’a çıkarak başlattığı kurtuluş mücadelesi meyvelerini vermeye başladı. I liked it for the most part. It held my attention, even if a few things were a little predictable. Enjoyable weekend read.
