Overview: Detektivka byla po celé dvacáté století nejoblíbenějším oddechovým žánrem českých čtenářů a její popularita neklesá ani v současnosti. Čeští literární detektivové se přitom dost liší od anglosaských suverénů: bývají nenápadní, skromní, neohromují okolí svými dedukcemi ani tvrdými pěstmi či přesnou muškou. Typické je pro ně ironizování, parodování a obecně podvracení autority takzvaného velkého detektiva. Mnohdy jejich příběhy psali uznávaní spisovatelé, knížka předních znalců však představuje i málo prozkoumané a temné uličky detektivní literatury. Good, but not quite perfect. I liked the main character, though some of the side plots were just okay. Enjoyable weekend read.

Honestly one of the better books I've read lately. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Worth the time and money.
