The Introduction sets out some of the chief features of Czech literature, notably its preoccupations with lyricism, civic-mindedness, and comedy. I was pleasantly surprised. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Would probably read it again at some point.

I liked it for the most part. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. Enjoyable weekend read.
