Tuvimos imitadores del fascio italiano, como Ramiro Ledesma y su lema «No parar hasta conquistar», o el matonismo de Onésimo Redondo, que desarrollaron una estrategia de terror callejero y fascinación por la milicia, el puñal y la futurista «guerra como higiene del mundo». Nos quedaba, eso sí, la antigua colonia de Guinea, donde también protagonizamos otro capítulo más de esperpento patrio con los «falangistas morenos» y el sueño de ser lo que ya no éramos. El franquismo y la muerte convivieron tan de cerca que la dictadura fue un alarde de necropolítica y exaltación de los «caídos», marchas nocturnas, «liturgias de fuego» y hasta «Día del Dolor».¿Existe acaso algo así como un ser «español» y una naturaleza «española»? Puede que lo que se muestra en esta antología ilustrada, resultado de una ingente labor de investigación y con una gran documentación visual, sea un buen comienzo de respuesta. Es terrible, sí, pero todo lo que se cuenta es cierto. Todos estos esperpentos patrios sucedieron. Pasen y vean. Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. A solid 4 stars from me.
