Overview: Neoliberalismus steht fur eine seit den 1930er-Jahren entstandene Lehre, die den Markt als Regulierungsmechanismus gesellschaftlicher Entwi- lungs- und Entscheidungsprozesse verabsolutiert. Es handelt sich um eine breite geistige Stromung mit unterschiedlichen historischen wie landerspe- fischen Erscheinungsformen, Strategievarianten und Praktiken. Eigentlich musste man von Neoliberalismen sprechen, die sich auf verschiedene theoretische Ansatze und Konzepte zur Umsetzung stutzen. Das gese- schaftspolitische Projekt des Neoliberalismus strebt nach einem Kapital- mus ohne wohlfahrtsstaatliche Begrenzungen. Die meisten Reprasentanten des Neoliberalismus verwenden diesen T- minus nicht zur Selbstetikettierung, weil sie darin einen politischen Kam- begriff oder ein Schimpfwort sehen. Auch unter seinen Kritiker(inne)n sind die Einfluss- und Handlungsmoglichkeiten des Neoliberalismus umstritten: Manche hielten sein Ende schon fur gekommen, bevor er in der Bundes- publik zur vollen politischen und gesellschaftlichen Wirkungsmachtigkeit gelangte. Bis heute bestimmt der Neoliberalismus die Tagespolitik, die - dienoffentlichkeit und das Massenbewusstsein hierzulande jedoch so stark wie keine andere Weltanschauung. Trager und fuhrende Akteure des neoliberalen Projekts sind allerdings schwierig auszumachen, weil sich hochstens ein kleiner, aber politisch e- flussreicher Personenkreis dieser Denkrichtung zuordnet. Dabei verfugt der Neoliberalismus uber prominente Vordenker fast ausschliesslich Manner, die unterschiedliche Theoriestrange ausgebildet und mehrere Denksc- len begrundet haben. Allein acht fuhrende Vertreter dieses Spektrums - hielten zwischen 1974 und 2002 den Nobelpreis fur Wirtschaftswiss- schaft. Das neoliberale Konzept wird auch von einflussreichen Meinun- machern vertreten, die nicht nur unter den Marktradikalen von Untern- merverbanden, des CDU-Wirtschaftsrates oder der FDP-Industrielobby zu finden sind."

Finished it in a couple of days. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. A solid 5/5 for me.
