Overview: "Esta publicación es el resultado de un encuentro académico en el año 2009, entre el estudiante Pedro Pablo Gómez y el profesor Walter Mignolo, en las aulas de la Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Quito, Ecuador). Allí empezamos a esbozar la idea de realizar una exposición en Bogotá, alrededor del problema de la colonialidad/decolonialidad de la estética, como interpelación a las dimensiones constitutivas y constituyentes de la modernidad/colonialidad. En 2010, esta iniciativa contó con la “complicidad” y las ideas del curador e historiador del arte, Santiago Rueda, del gerente de Artes Plásticas de la Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño, Jorge Jaramillo, y de la curadora del Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, María Elvira Ardila.
