Overview: Aquest volum presenta una selecció d´articles periodístics d´Eugeni Xammar, aplegats en quatre seccions. La primera, «Periodisme informatiu», conté els cinc articles que Xammar va publicar a La Veu de Catalunya com a crònica del viatge a Rússia que va fer, el 1925, en companyia de Josep Pla. La segona, «Periodisme polèmic», presenta in extenso la polèmica sobre el periodisme, i especialment sobre la figura d´Eugeni d´Ors, que Pla i Xammar, plegats, van mantenir el 1924 amb Montoliu i amb Junoy a les pàgines de La Veu. La tercera secció, «Periodisme polític», reuneix articles de poca difusió — i algun d´inèdit — que tracten majoritàriament de la política cultural catalana sota el franquisme. Finalment, a «Periodisme literari» s´aplega una breu mostra d´articles sobre costums i paisatges catalans, tots ells immediatament posteriors a la Guerra Civil. El conjunt, doncs, dóna una visió molt completa dels múltiples registres que dominava el més internacional dels periodistes del país — que, a desgrat de ser també un dels més aguts, àgils i brillants, és pràcticament, avui, un desconegut —, i es constitueix, així, en una contribució indispensable per al coneixement d´un capítol important de la literatura catalana del segle XX. La selecció i la presentació dels textos han anat a càrrec de Josep Badia i Moret, que ja va tenir cura de les extraordinàries memòries d´Eugeni Xammar, Seixanta anys d´anar pel món (1974).

Eugeni Xammar is a writer and avid reader based in the Pacific Northwest. Before pursuing writing full-time, they spent over a decade working in education. Such a great read. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Interesting premise and executed fairly well. Just a few slow chapters here and there. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

Glad someone recommended this to me. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Will be looking for more from this author.

I liked it for the most part. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. A solid 4 stars from me.
