Overview: Esta obra pionera e imprescindible –que indudablemente se convertirá en referente– permite comprender la persecución que, en España, y más concretamente en la Comunitat Valenciana y Murcia, sufrieron todas aquellas personas que no se adecuaban a las normas de virilidad y comportamiento sexual que impuso el nacionalcatolicismo. Por primera vez, el historiador Javier Fernández Galeano se ha sumergido en los expedientes de peligrosidad social custodiados en el Arxiu Històric de la Comunitat Valenciana, para sacar a la luz las vidas, el sufrimiento y las formas de resistencia y placer de las personas que fueron juzgadas y condenadas a penas de prisión, exilio y vigilancia por una ley que propiciaba el ensañamiento y la violencia. La aplicación de esas condenas trascendía el ámbito de las prisiones en tanto que los represaliados eran señalados y estigmatizados de por vida. Esta investigación nos adentra en los espacios de socialización de los homosexuales y las personas trans durante los años setenta, trazando las biografías valientes de sus protagonistas. A very satisfying read. The writing style is very engaging. It’s easy to follow but still has a lot of depth. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.

I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. A solid 5/5 for me.

Such a great read. I got really invested in the main character's journey. Everything just clicked for me. Would probably read it again at some point.

Not bad, but not my favorite. It had some good moments, but the overall plot felt a bit disjointed in the second half. Just right down the middle.
