He was also known for his unrepentant lifelong use of alcohol, LSD, mescaline, and cocaine (among other substances); his love of firearms, his long-standing hatred of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush, and his iconoclastic contempt for authoritarianism. While suffering a bout of health problems, he committed suicide on February 20, 2005, at the age of 67.

Took me a few chapters to get into it, but it was worth it. Writing is good, just wish there was a bit more depth in certain parts. Still kept my attention though. I'd probably recommend it to a friend.

An average read for me. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. A generous 3 stars.
