Overview: Fyodor Mihayloviç Dostoyevski (1821-1881): İlk romanı İnsancıklar’ın çarpıcı konusu ve farklı kurgusuyla dikkatleri çekti. İnsan ruhunun derinliklerini sergileyiş gücüyle önemli bir yazar olarak ün kazandı. Ancak daha sonra yayımlanan eserleri o dönemde fazla ilgi görmedi. Dostoyevski 1849’da I.Nikolay’ın baskıcı rejimine muhalif Petraşevski grubunun üyesi olduğu gerekçesiyle tutuklandı. Kurşuna dizilmek üzereyken cezası sürgün ve zorunlu askerliğe çevrildi. Sibirya sürgününden sonra yazdığı romanlarla tekrar eski ününe kavuştu. 1864’de Vremya dergisinde yayımladığı Yeraltından Notlar gerçek dünyadan kendini soyutlamış bir kişinin iç çatışmalarını ve hezeyanlarını konu alır. Bu roman Dostoyevski’nin daha sonra yazacağı büyük romanların ipuçlarını taşımaktadır.Nihal Yalaza Taluy (1900-1963): Cumhuriyet’in ilk kuşağının önde gelen Rusça çevirmenlerindendir. Glad someone recommended this to me. It has a good balance of dialogue and description. Everything felt like it moved at the right speed. Glad I picked this up.

A very satisfying read. The pacing was spot on and the characters felt real. I didn't find myself getting bored at any point. Will be looking for more from this author.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The pacing was a bit slow and I found myself skimming a few pages. It wasn't terrible, just okay. Might work better for someone else, just wasn't completely for me.

Really enjoyed this one. The author did a great job wrapping everything up at the end. No weird plot holes left behind. Definitely recommend it if you like this genre.
